Live NE News
Public Education Northeast (PEN) is attempting to better understand what school programs and offerings are important to parents, students, and the community of northeast Minneapolis. We wish to collect opinions from as many parents of students and other stakeholders in the northeast corridor, including current Minneapolis Public School (MPS) parents as well as parents of children who have chosen other schools. We really want to know the reasons for how you make decisions about your child’s education.

The MPS school board is in the process of completing a strategic planning process which will allow them to shape the direction of all schools.

How do we wish to shape the schools in the northeast community?

That’s why your input is crucial!

Important NE Middle School Meeting Sept. 24th PDF Print E-mail
Recent test scores have important implications for NEMS' current AYP status. Because of the test and attendence results Northeast Middle School is in Stage 3 of "Needs Improvement". The school district sent home a letter to each of our families indicating our status and the letter lets them know they can transfer to another school and they need to decide by 10/15/07. Our students and families are very concerned about this situation and would like to know what will, or could, happen for the future at NEMS. We are having a informational at Northeast Middle School on Monday September 24th at 6:00PM in the school auditorium. Associate Superintendent of Area A, Dr. Ben Perry along with REA (district Research, Evaluation and Assessment)and other district staff will be available to answer question and address concerns. I hope you will be able to attend this session! This was written by Debbie Nelson. Submitted by Jill Davis
