Live NE News
Public Education Northeast (PEN) is attempting to better understand what school programs and offerings are important to parents, students, and the community of northeast Minneapolis. We wish to collect opinions from as many parents of students and other stakeholders in the northeast corridor, including current Minneapolis Public School (MPS) parents as well as parents of children who have chosen other schools. We really want to know the reasons for how you make decisions about your child’s education.

The MPS school board is in the process of completing a strategic planning process which will allow them to shape the direction of all schools.

How do we wish to shape the schools in the northeast community?

That’s why your input is crucial!

Jackson Square Park Dedication

On August 8th, 2007, Jackson Square Park reached another milestone, albeit ceremonial.  1st Park District Commissioner Walter Dziedzic with the help of others cut the ceremonial park dedication ribbon to celebrate the new playground equipment, shade structures and wading pool improvements at Jackson Square Park.

Commissioner Dziedzic also announced, "It's time to get that backstop taken care of next."  He added, "There is a fundraiser on August 24th."

The fundraiser referred to is the Jackson Square Commemorative Backstop fundraiser.  More information on that fundraiser can be viewed by clicking here

Below is a photo gallery of pictures taken at the dedication.
