Live NE News
Public Education Northeast (PEN) is attempting to better understand what school programs and offerings are important to parents, students, and the community of northeast Minneapolis. We wish to collect opinions from as many parents of students and other stakeholders in the northeast corridor, including current Minneapolis Public School (MPS) parents as well as parents of children who have chosen other schools. We really want to know the reasons for how you make decisions about your child’s education.

The MPS school board is in the process of completing a strategic planning process which will allow them to shape the direction of all schools.

How do we wish to shape the schools in the northeast community?

That’s why your input is crucial!

Jackson Square Commemorative Backstop Fundraiser

Thanks to the crowd that joined the 2nd JSP fundraising event held August 24, 2007!

It was held in the Italian American Club on the SE corner of Central & 23rd Ave NE (2221 Central Ave NE). The event started at 6 PM and ended at 9 PM.

Food & Drink sponsors for the event were Marino's Deli on Johnson Street NE (Subs), Marina Grill & Deli on University (Gyros & fixin's), Crescent Moon Bakery (Pizza), Columbia Grounds Coffee (coffee), Central Ave Liquors (wine), Barley John's Brewpub (Beer) and the Eastside Food Cooperative (Spaghetti) too!

The photo gallery below includes pictures from the June 22nd & August 24th fundraising events.

The two JSP fundraising events have been a huge success. Over $8,500 has been amassed so far - which means that we are already 1/7 of the way toward our goal! As you see from the photo gallery below, the dinner gave us a chance to mix conversation with wonderful, Northeast food and drinks!
